Episode 1: How to Learn English From Zero | Easy English Guide for Absolute Beginners

Hosts: Grace (Female) and Oliver (Male)
Level: A0 (Absolute Beginner)

Grace: Hello, everyone! Welcome to the very first episode of the Dynamic English Podcast. I am Grace.

Oliver: And I am Oliver. Hello, friends! We are so happy you are here today.

Grace: Oliver, today is a very special day. It is Episode One.

Oliver: Yes, it is! Today, we help you start your journey. If you know zero English—nothing at all—that is perfect. You are in the right place.

Grace: We want to make English easy. We speak slowly. We repeat words. We help you learn with a smile. Are you ready?

Oliver: I am ready! Let’s begin.

Section 1: Hello and Introduction

Grace: Okay, let’s start with the most important word. When you see a friend, you say "Hello." Can you say it with me? Hello.

Oliver: Hel-lo. Hello.

Grace: Very good. "Hello" is a greeting. It means, "I am happy to see you."

Oliver: Now, let’s learn to say your name. My name is Oliver. Grace, what is your name?

Grace: My name is Grace. Now, listener, you try. Say, "My name is..." and then your name.

Oliver: That was great! If you feel shy, that is okay. English is new. It is okay to be shy.

Grace: Yes, it is. Learning is a process. "Process" means it happens little by little. Like walking. One step, then another step.

Oliver: So, let's practice the first key phrase. Phrase number one: "My name is." Repeat after me. My. Name. Is.

Grace: My. Name. Is.

Oliver: Grace, you have a beautiful name.

Grace: Thank you, Oliver! You are very kind. "Kind" means you are nice to people.

Section 2: Numbers and Daily Objects

Oliver: Grace, how many languages are we speaking today?

Grace: Just one! English.

Oliver: And how many hosts are there?

Grace: One, two. There are two hosts.

Oliver: Let's practice numbers. Numbers are very important. Let’s count to three.

Grace: Okay! Repeat after us. One. Two. Three.

Oliver: Again! One. Two. Three.

Grace: Perfect. Now, let’s look at objects around us. I see a cup.

Oliver: A cup. C-U-P. We use a cup for water or coffee.

Grace: I have a pen. A pen is for writing.

Oliver: P-E-N. Pen.

Grace: Now, listen and repeat these words. I will say them, you say them.

Grace: Cup.
Grace: Pen.
Grace: Hello.

Oliver: You are doing very well. Remember, if you do not know a word, do not worry. You can listen again later.

Section 3: The Mini-Story (The Story of Sam)

Grace: Now, it is time for a short story. Stories help us learn faster. This is a story about a man named Sam.

Oliver: Sam is a beginner, just like you. Let's listen.

Grace: Sam wakes up. He says, "Hello, world!"

Oliver: Sam wants to learn English. He buys a book. The book is for beginners.

Grace: Sam reads the book. He learns one word. Then, he learns two words.

Oliver: Every day, Sam practices. He says, "I learn English."

Grace: That is a great sentence. Let’s practice that sentence together.

Oliver: "I."

Grace: "Learn."

Oliver: "English."

Grace: "I learn English."

Oliver: Good! Let's try it faster. "I learn English."

Grace: See? Sam is happy. He learns a little bit every day. You are like Sam. You are here, you are listening, and you are learning.

Section 4: Practice and Shadowing

Oliver: Now, we do "Shadowing." Shadowing is when you speak at the same time as us. It helps your mouth move correctly.

Grace: Are you ready? We will speak slowly. Follow our voice.

Oliver: "My name is Oliver."

Grace: "My name is Grace."

Oliver: "I learn English."

Grace: "English is fun."

Oliver: Did you do it?

Grace: I think they did a great job, Oliver.

Oliver: I think so too. It feels strange at first, right? Making new sounds with your mouth?

Grace: Yes, but that is how we learn. My mouth feels different when I speak English compared to my native language. It takes practice!

Section 5: Review and Vocabulary Recap

Grace: Let’s look at what we learned today.

Oliver: We learned three things. Number one: Greetings. "Hello."

Grace: Number two: Introducing yourself. "My name is..."

Oliver: And number three: Our goal. "I learn English."

Grace: Let’s repeat these three phrases one last time.

Oliver: Hello.
Grace: My name is...
Oliver: I learn English.

Grace: Oliver, do you have any advice for our listeners?

Oliver: Yes. Consistency is key. "Consistency" means doing something every day. Even for five minutes. Do not study for five hours one day and then stop. Study a little bit every day.

Grace: That is very smart, Oliver. Five minutes is better than nothing.

Oliver: Exactly. And listen to this podcast when you drink your morning coffee or when you walk to work.

Section 6: Outro and Question of the Day

Oliver: Yes! The question is: What is your name?

Grace: Please write your answer in the comments. Write: "Hello, my name is..." and your name. We want to meet you!

Oliver: Yes, we will read the comments. Tell us where you are from, too!

Grace: "I am from..." and your country.

Oliver: That is all for today, everyone.

Grace: You did great today. See you in Episode Two.
